SMYRNA FFA ALUMNI

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Application must be submitted by January 31st

Qualifications & Guidelines:

1. Must currently be a high school senior and an active Smyrna FFA Member for a minimum of two years OR be enrolled in an accredited college or technical school while maintaining a membership to the Smyrna FFA Chapter.

2. Criteria will include academic excellence, recommendations, and personal statements.

3. Applicant must provide proof of the required 2.5 GPA.

4. High School senior recipients must complete the first semester of college/tech school and provide proof of enrollment for the second semester to the Smyrna FFA Alumni Treasurer, before the scholarship is received. The scholarship will be awarded by check directly to the student and must be used within 12 months of receiving the award. College freshman, sophomore, or juniors must provide their current semester grade report and proof of registration for the upcoming semester.

5. High school senior must submit a letter of reference from a High School Agri-Science Teacher.

6. Applications must be typed and submitted by deadline.

7. Information must be listed in chronological order. Use additional pages if necessary.

APPLICATION

The scholarship review panel will consist of at least four members of the Delaware Smyrna FFA Alumni. Identifying information on the application will be redacted so the panel judges can remain impartial. A standard rubric will be used for scoring. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Smyrna FFA High School Banquet.

I HEREBY AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING LISTED TERMS. IF I DO NOT FULFILL THIS AGREEMENT, I WILL JEOPARDIZE THIS SCHOLARSHIP.

• I UNDERSTAND SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE DIVIDED AMOUNG QUALIFIED APPLICANTS SELECTED BY THE SMYRNA FFA ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE WHEN AVAILABLE.

• I VERIFY THAT I AM A GRADUATING SENIOR FROM THE DELAWARE SMYRNA FFA CHAPTER OR GRADUATED FROM THE SMYRNA FFA CHAPTER AND HAVE REMAINED AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER SINCE TIME OF GRADUATION.

• I WILL MAKE ALL REASONABLE EFFORTS TO ATTEND THE SMYRNA FFA CHAPTER BANQUET AND SMYRNA HIGH SCHOOL AWARDS BANQUET IN OFFICIAL DRESS.

• I UNDERSTAND THAT ALL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS MUST SHOW PROOF OF ENROLLMENT PRIOR TO MONEY BEING RECEIVED.

• I UNDERSTAND THAT IF ANY PORTION OF THIS APPLICATION IS FOUND TO BE ERRONEOUS, THE APPLICANT MAY BE DISQUALIFIED FROM CONSIDERATION AND SELECTION FOR THE SMYRNA FFA ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP.
